The FA's Recurrent Class

Stupid me.. Selca while doing safety revision LOL

I've been very busy for the last 4 days due to 'recurrent' class. Some of you might asking me 'what is recurrent ?' This post I'm gonna share with you all what is our 'recurrent' class in my company.. Every one year, we need to go back to the Academy to attend this 'recurrent' to renew our 'Safety License' (Something like renew the driving license), if your safety license is expired then you can't fly until you renew your license. I believe all the cabin crew out there sure go through this before. But.. before you can get your license renew, you MUST PASS all the exams and tests! This is the toughest part... Here, let me share with you all what we refresh for...

I'm not from Qatar, cabin crew manual always look like this and this is only an example :)

The first thing of Recurrent, it's all about Safety and First Aid revision. Our instructor will do a review for us and at the end of the day, we need to sit for the exams for safety and first aid paper. Please do not get shock because our passing mark is 90% WOW... means we only can make 3 mistakes out of 40 questions LOL...
If you failed, then you need to come back to academy earlier the next morning to re-sit your paper.

The second thing is all about practical and drills assessment.. What its all about ? Door drill, emergency drill, slide drill and wet drill. We need to do an assessment on how to Pre-flight check of the door, Closing of the door, Arming the door, Disarming the door, Opening of door and emergency opening of door. Do you think is easy ? NO.. You must do it step-by-step by telling all the phrase and all the sequences...

Next, slide drill. Every door has an evacuation slide so that when emergency happens, all of us will evacuate using the slide. I guess some of you might have no idea hows the slide looks like and here its the picture of hows of the slide looks like in most of the aircrafts. Some reader did ask me before, if emergency happen how we get out of the aircraft ? Parachute ? hahaha~ This is the answer. We need to do assessment sliding down using 2 methods and also how to bring the disabled passenger down to the slide :)

Wet drill. Some of the aircrafts in my company consists of slide raft.. means in case any emergency happens on the sea. We as a flight attendant need to know how to operate the slide raft. Normally every exits has a slide raft except overwing exits (If you don't know where are the overwing exits, means you actually did not listen to the safety demonstration that showed by flight attendant.. hahahaha, so next time please pay attention and be aware because emergency might happen anytime)

Tai Chi ? Kungfu ? Karate ? Taekwando ? NO... It's a method of self-defense. About this ? I can't write too long hahahaha~ Because its P and C LOL... If you are a cabin crew you will know...

Guys, emergency can happen anytime, so anything please listen to flight attendant instructions. Because we are well trained on these situations and of course you all can rely on us :) But hopefully, safe flight always! Bye~
