A Day as a AirAsia Flight Attendant

The RED - Air Asia

Hello peoples :) Today another blogpost again... I wish to cover my previous unhappy post.. Please forget the previous post ok ? Some peoples ask me to share about my job scope or how's cabin crew work ? This post just sharing through my experiences, so let's enjoy The Day of being a Flight Attendant(Sorry peoples, what I sharing is about Air Asia, not other airlines)

Wake up at 3am in the morning, bath, make up, change uniform, tie my hair and had my breakfast.. I done all these in just 1 hour(You can imagine by looking at my photo above, my make up and hair are such a sh**) hahahaha~

4am depart from home, usually my father or my boyfren will fetch me to KL Sentral and I'll take Skybus to LCCT.. The journey from my house to KL Sentral is about 15-20 minutes, and from KL Sentral to LCCT is about 45 minutes to 1 hour. So I will reach airport before 6am

Reach the airport, going up to the office and 'Sign On'... You may ask what is 'Sign On' ? Sign On is to click a 'Report to Duty' button through the office computer to ensure you report your duty on time or you are late or missing in action~ While signing on, note down all the flight details today. Where I flying to ? Who I flying with ? Which is our aircraft ? Where is our aircraft parking ? What is the name of the airport ? CIQ ? and many many more... This is why we need to reach office earlier to prepare our flight. Normally I will report my duty at least 15 minutes earlier than my reporting time. So that I can do my things slowly and pack my foods from the office lounge.

6am is my briefing time. Time to find my SFA and my crews and get all the documents and equipments from the cashier that we need to bring on flight. Briefing time around 10-15 minutes. SFA will brief about working position on that day(work as P2, P3 or P4), about service flow, about standard operating procedures, safety and first aid, latest memo that send out from the company and more... After finish briefing, we will go meet the Captain and the First Officer. They will brief us about the weather, refuelling and also the safety. Then we proceed to our aircraft.

Enter the aircraft, check our safety equipments.. Different working position has different safety equipments that need to check... The infant life vest, infant seatbelts, extension seatbelts, oxygen bottle and many more~ After finish checking, ensure all the safety equipments are up to standard, then we need to report the safety equipments to our SFA... SFA will have to report to Captain. Then we start to welcoming our guests...

Boarding in the process then finish boarding, we need to count our passengers onboard using telecounter to ensure the correct amount of passengers, no extra, wrongly boarded passengers... Then we close and lock the doors. Ready to fly now... Secure all the things, checking the cabin, make sure all passengers fasten the seatbelts, seats upright, stow back the tray tables, window shades fully up and handphones switch off! Then ready for the safety demo :) After that, report to SFA 'cabin is secure for take off' and SFA report to Captain and now we are taking off!

After take off and waiting for the seatbelt sign to goes off... Once the seatbelt sign goes off, start to set up our carts. Snacks side and drinks side... heating up the meals and ready for the sales of foods and beverages. After the service of foods and beverages, rubbish collection then start to sell our merchandise, souvenirs and duty free items :) After that, its our happy hour time... Selca time, chit chat and eating LOL...

Before landing, triple chime and seatbelt signs on.. check the cabin again make sure all secure for landing and report to SFA as well :) Now we are ready for landing... After landing, and it's time to say goodbye to our passengers :) After all passengers disembark, we need to clean the cabin and ready the cabin and waiting for boarding again... Until the last sectors.

Last sector before landing, we need to close our carts to check how much is the sales for that day :) and that's our commission for that day hahahaha~ Close carts, replenish the toilets, clean the cabin for the next set of take over crew... Then we heading back to office again for our de-briefing... SFA will point out if we did anything wrong or highlight anything that happen onboard.

LAST, finish the day and go back :D

That's a day of a AirAsia normal Flight Attendant(Not SFA) XOXO~ Hope you guys like this post and do leave some comments if you like it :D

BLACK #505

Just random thoughts

A random post today, am suppose to blog something happy but my mood now is seriously shit... So I don't know how to blog a happy post. I know some of you might have the same feeling like me... Last few days I was working hard and reach home late, so I do not have time to blog. Today finally I got time to blog but I have to blog a sad post :(

Today is 6th May 2013, its a Black Monday for Malaysia. I proud to tell anyone that I'm from Malaysia but I shame to tell anyone about our government. Peoples spending their golden time, their money to buy tickets go back to their hometown and vote. You can also see alot of old folks around 70 or 80 queue up in the morning and vote. Everyone of us thought this would be a clean and fair election but what is the ending ? You all win by 'playing' all the dirty tricks and magic shows... From this point, I shame on you!

I don't know what to say, but from this 'Dirty Election', we see through alot of things.. Rakyat Malaysia all stand up together and fight together! This is what we called 'ONE MALAYSIA'... No matter you are Malay, Chinese or Indian(Sorry! No BANGLA pleaseeee....)

Lastly a message to our PM, Thanks to your magic show and let us see how dirty you are~ First, you are the one who said 'We no need Chinese and Indians votes!' and yesterday you said 'There is a Chinese Tsunami that do not support us'... No need chinese, now need chinese! Hahahahaha~ Actually what you want eh ? All Malaysians, please do not give up! Let's fight together and CHANGE! If we cannot change this time, another 5 years ? Well... Let's see!

等天收吧!

A Little Surprise Onboard...

It's not easy when you put on your uniform

Once you put on your uniform as a cabin crew or flight attendant, you are trained to be in different position such as doctor, fireman, policeman or whatsoever... In the sky, nobody will help you if anything happen because you are well-trained on all these... no matter how old are you, 18, 19 or 20~, no matter you are male, female or shemale, You have to handle these things by your own...

I did encounter some small emergency onboard last time but that time I was just a normal crew.. everytime when things happen, all the normal crew will start to rely on SFA and that's one of me too. But now I couldn't because I'm a SFA right now, all my crews will start rely on me when things happen LOL... So I need to be calm and settle things carefully. So everyday I was praying so hard that every flight go smoothly and nothing happen..

Last 2 weeks, we were flying from Kota Kinabalu to Kuala Lumpur and the flight time was about 2hr30mins. It was a long flight and normally KK flight was the most simple flight because its only domestic flight.. In-flight services always take 30 minutes only and after that we got around 2 hours for rest and chit-chating.. When we were about to start having our lunch, suddenly there's a passenger press the call button and one of my steward went and attend the passenger. The passenger complain about difficulty in breathing and very hot, he is sweating eventhough the temperature in the aircraft was about 22 degree(It's normal temperature and its not hot). We thought he was suffering because his body quite big size and he seated next to the window seat. My steward gave him a cup of warm water and start monitor him quietly.

Not more than 2 minutes, he press the call button again and he complaining the same thing. This time my steward came and report to me about his condition so I went and attend to him personally. I asked him few questions and he told me that he can't breath, the feeling is like he suffering from underwater. I asked my crews to prepare the oxygen bottle because I can feel that he is suffering due to keep sweating and the way he breath. I move him from window seat to the last row aisle seat so that he can have more space. Luckily we all still remember how to operate the oxygen bottle and I put the oxygen mask over the passenger and asked him to breath normally. He start to feel better and we keep monitor him.

As a SFA, I have to informed Captain and keep Captain updated, I need to write a long report and I need to take note on how's the pulse rate and the breathing rate of the passenger. Suddenly there's funny thing happened, the oxygen bottle stop working halfway.. there's no oxygen flowing.. LOL.. Then the passenger complain again... LOL... Stupid oxygen bottle. Then we quickly change another bottle for him.. Captain asked me to page for medical personnel or doctor onboard. After we made the announcement, all the passengers start to look at us and curious about what happen.. And there's a passenger came to us and told us that he got basic knowledge about CPR. (LOL... that's very funny, because we also got basic knowledge about CPR). 但是既然他那么想‘扮叻’,就成全他一下 hahahaha

At the end, the passenger use 02 bottle of oxygen bottle and he used around 45 minutes. We almost called ambulance upon arrival but the passenger insist do not want ambulance. Luckily when the aircraft arrived, the passenger is ok and he is fine. How about as a SFA ? I need to write a report for my own, I need to write a medical report regarding oxygen bottle, I need to report captain so that captain will have the same report as me, and I also need to write a report regarding the stupid oxygen bottle stop working =.= LOL...

It's just a minor emergency but I would like to share it on my blog.. :) Hopefully you all won't sleep when read this post.. But I am so happy because at the end of the flight, the passenger holding my hand and keep say thank you to me repeatedly and remember my name... :) Get well soon SIR!
